I'm currently sitting in a posh hotel in My Tho, a town in the Mekong Delta. After a gruelling 12-hour bus trip from Siem Reap to Saigon, which actually consisted of a 6-hour bus ride plus a 1-hour wait at 5am then another 6 hours (which turned into 7 of course) to cross the border and get into Vietnam. I met a nice Welsh girl on the bus and we met up with her friends in Saigon, and decided to all head down to the Mekong Delta together since they only have 3 days here. So another 6 hours on the bus later, we were in Can Tho with a boat trip booked for the next morning. Whew!
I can't write too much at the moment (too busy doing fun stuff) but when I get settled in Saigon in a couple of days I'll write more about my last week at Green Gecko and about the Mekong Delta. So far Vietnam is lots of fun, the food is amazing, and yes it is a lot cheaper than Cambodia. I am dying to hit the markets and replace some of my old travelling clothes! Especially since I left my nice comfy pyjamas in Can Tho :(
OK that's all for now, more words & pictures to come!
Love
